Process update

Beginning Sunday, March 9, your Search Committee will host a series of discussion forums, following four themes important to our understanding parishioners’ priorities and desires for St. John’s.  The forums will be held on four Sundays after the 8 and 10 o’clock services. The topic covered on Sunday will be repeated on an evening during the following week.

We anticipate each session lasting no longer than one hour. Advance sign up is not necessary for the Sunday sessions, but we ask that you sign up for the evening sessions. You may sign up in the parish hall, by email to our search address, or by phone to one of us. Supervision will be provided for children after the 10 a.m. Sunday service.  The schedule is as follows:

Focus on the Present:  Where We are Now

Focus on the Future: Where We see Ourselves Going

Ministries at St. John’s

Qualities Important in a New Rector

We hope that you will be able to attend these sessions; but if you are unable to attend for any reason, please phone one of us to provide your input.  You can also e-mail the Search Committee at Stjohnsramsey@gmail.com.

Thank you for your participation.

Sincerely,

Mary Welton, Chair, Self-Study Committee      (201-825-8629)
Steven Boston, Chair, Discernment Committee (201-934-9615)
Kathy Lathrop, Junior Warden (845-357-3025)

Search Committee Update
May 5, 2008

Thank you to everyone who participated in our self-study process by filling out the demographic survey, attending the Conversations with Parishioners sessions, and taking the in-church survey on April 27 or May 4. Your input is invaluable. The full notes from the Conversations are posted on the Search bulletin board in the parish hall, and the results of the in-church survey will be posted as soon as all the data is compiled. Results from both will also be on our website.

The Profile Sub-Committee has begun compiling our parish profile. We promise to keep you well informed of our progress. If you have questions or comments, speak to any committee member, phone Mary Welton at 201-825-8629, or email the Search Committee Stjohnsramsey@gmail.com.

More information on the process can be found on the Diocese of Newark page.
