Welcome
Whoever you are and wherever you are on your journey of faith, you are welcome. Our central message is that the unconditional love of God is extended to you right now through Jesus Christ. Here, in the Church, God says: “This is my family, and you belong. I will bless you.”
If this is your first time with us, please take a moment and fill out a Welcome card found in the pew rack. You can place the card in the offering plate or at designated locations at the church entrances. Do join us in the Parish Hall for coffee and fellowship.

Announcements
The Used Bike Collection, which the St. John’s Outreach Committee ran for “Pedals for Progress” received 74 bicycles and one sewing machine. These are on their way to change lives in Uganda. St. John’s Outreach Committee thanks everyone who generously gave their time both on the day of the collection and earlier on publicity.
Join Us For Summer Breakfasts. Outreach is sponsoring Summer Breakfasts at 9:00 AM each Sunday throughout the summer. For $3/person and $5/family, a light breakfast will be available. Look for a sign-up sheet on the kitchen door in the Parish Hall and consider being a host, or teaming up with a friend and hosting together. See you there!
Cross Roads Summer Camp: Looking for meaningful activities for your children this summer? Consider Cross Roads Summer Camp, with faith-based programs for children from grades one through twelve. Cross Roads is a welcoming, ecumenical retreat center and camp of the Episcopal Diocese of Newark and the NJ Synod of the ELCA. Program information and registration forms can be found in the Parish Hall or check them out at www.crossroadsretreat.com.
Tour of the Port of Newark. One of the missions St. John’s supports through both donated toiletries and magazines and through our Outreach budget is the Seamen’s Church Institute located in Port Newark. On Saturday, July 24th, we have an opportunity to tour the port with Chaplain Marge Lindstrom who will explain how SCI aids the merchant seamen. This is an escorted tour by van, so children are welcome to join us. We’ll carpool from St. John’s, leaving at 9:00 a.m. Look for the sign-up sheet in the Parish Hall.
Prayer List Changes for July. We are in the process of updating our Prayer List in order to keep it current. Names will now remain on the prayer list for one month. All names currently on our list will remain through the month of June. On July 1st the list will be cleansed of all names; at this time you may include the name of a loved one in need of prayer or ask for a name to remain on for that month. This will be done on a month to month basis in order to keep our list up to date.

Kool Kids Summer Church School

Building on our wonderful church school program, this year St John’s is introducing summer sessions during July and August. Kool Kids Summer Church School will be offered beginning at 10:00 am to coincide with the first half of the Eucharist. As with our regular program, the children will join us at the peace. Unlike our regular program, our summer church school to take a multi-age one room schoolhouse approach. Each week there will be a gathering activity with music, a scripture lesson and age appropriate activities. The children will meet in the Parish Hall. The lessons are related but stand alone, so no worry if you are away for a Sunday. The first four sessions will be based on St Paul, the last two on the gospels. Sessions are:
July 11 Paul and Silas in Prison
July 18 Family Service
July 25 A Love Letter
August 1 The Body of Christ
August 9 Shipwreck!
August 15 Family Service
August 22 On the Mountain
August 29 On The Road
